Gateridge Farm

The Suffolk Horse is the oldest breed of heavy horse in Great Britain with male lines tracing back to 1768. Unfortunately it is also the rarest with less than 300 females the Suffolk Horse is classified as critical by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. At the last ‘census’ in spring 2008 there were 150 females of breeding age and only 25 registered stallions.

At Gateridge Farm we do our best to support the Suffolk Horse through our breeding programme, we also show some of our horses both in hand and with our Oxfordshire Wagon. Currently we have 15 of our own horses here including our licenced stallion. We are also expecting four foals this season.
